Instructions for old versions of MuseScore in handbook

David Bolton-2
The current MuseScore handbook supports version 0.9.2 and above. I am
considering increasing the version number to 0.9.4 and above.

Dropping support for version 0.9.3 and earlier would simplify some pages
in the handbook on topics such as Note Entry, Voices, and Copy and Paste

If my memory is correct, MuseScore 0.9.2 (or maybe 0.9.1) is still in
use on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) which is still officially supported
by Ubuntu till April 2011 but I doubt it is a large audience for
MuseScore since the new LTS has been out for a few months now. The next
oldest release is on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). Judging by the release
dates it probably has MuseScore 0.9.5 (or maybe 0.9.4).

Any objections?

David

Ubuntu 8.04 does indeed have 0.9.1, and whilst it is still supported
for a couple more months, 0.9.6 is available for it in the
mscore-stable PPA. Ubuntu 9.10 has 0.9.4 officially, but, again, 0.9.6
is available in the PPA; unfortunately for those releases, because
they contain old versions of core packages like Qt, it is quite
difficult to bring their PPA packages more up-to-date.

None at all.

No objections David. We could always use some css which hides instructions for old versions to compile a handbook on a short notice without editing/reviewing effort. I think that would be good since that will also cover the translations.
